The Terracotta Army is definitely worth a visit. It is considered one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world and a must-see for all visitors to China. It reveals the secrets behind the clay army that guarded the tomb of China’s first emperor 2,000 years ago and was only discovered by accident in 1974. The museum consists of three main pits very close to each other, of which Pit 1 is the largest and most impressive, displaying around 2,000 warriors.

2.How long does it take to visit the Terracotta Army?

The time needed to visit the Terracotta Army depends on the level of interest and whether you plan to see additional exhibits or just the main pits. Generally speaking, 2-4 hours might be enough for a thorough visit, so it is recommended to allocate half a day for this activity.

3.How long should I spend in Xian?

For a classic Xian tour, it normally costs 2–4 days, and you can choose the most interested attractions to visit. Besides the Terracotta Army, you can also visit the Ancient City Wall, Drum Tower and Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, Shaanxi History Museum, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and Great Mosque. The train distance from Chengdu to Xian is 658 kilometers (409 miles), and the travel time is approximately 3 to 4.5 hours by high-speed train.

5.How long is the plank walk in Huashan?

The total length of the Huashan cliffside path is more than 100 meters (about 330 feet). It is composed of three sections. The first section is about 20 meters long (66 feet) and 0.7 meter (2.3 feet) wide, equipped with iron protective fence. The second section is about 10 meters (33 feet) long and almost vertical. The last section is the most dangerous part, which is quite steep and only 0.3 meters wide. The actual walking on the plank walk takes about 30 to 60 minutes, but the entire adventure, including waiting time and other activities, spans approximately 2 hours.
