The most popular destinations in Shandong include Qingdao, known for its beer heritage and coastal attractions; Jinan, the provincial capital with scenic springs; Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius; and Mount Tai, one of China’s most sacred mountains. Other cities like Yantai, Weihai, Penglai, Zibo, Weifang, Linyi, and Rizhao also offer unique experiences and are worth visiting.

Access to major cities in Shandong is convenient via airplane or high-speed train. Qingdao Liuting International Airport and Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport serve international and domestic flights. High-speed trains from Beijing to Qingdao take approximately five and a half hours by D-train and four and a half hours by G-train, while the trip between Beijing and Jinan takes about two hours.

The Qingdao International Beer Festival is held annually starting from the second weekend of August and lasts for 16 days. It is Asia’s largest beer festival, attracting international breweries and participants from around the globe. Everyone is welcome to join in this grand event.
