Itinerary

Once arrive, you will be picked up from the train or airport and taken to your downtown hotel to check in. You have the remainder of the day to yourself to enjoy Wuhan city!

Following breakfast, you will start your full-day tour of Wuhan.

Guiyuan Temple is the first stop. As one of the four largest Buddhist meditation temples in Hubei and a significant Buddhist temple in China, Guiyuan Temple was initially constructed in the early Qing dynasty. Afterwards, proceed to the Heptachord Terrace (Guqin Tai), which is situated close to the western base of Tortoise Hill on the southern side of Moon Lake.

Finally, make your way to Yellow Crane Tower, which is among the most well-known structures south of the Yangtze River. It is well-known as “The First Scenery under Heaven.” Furthermore, because of its cultural value, Wuhan City adopted it as its emblem.

After breakfast, take a morning excursion to the esteemed Hubei Provincial Museum, established in 1953 and spanning 6.5 hectares. Marvel at its collection of over 200,000 artifacts, including bronze ware, jade carvings, lacquerware, porcelain, and paintings. Immerse yourself in a melodious performance featuring chime bells and ancient instruments, offering a glimpse into China’s rich historical tapestry.

Later, make your way to Wuhan’s railway station to board a high-speed train to the sacred Wudangshan, a picturesque journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival in the afternoon, check into your hotel and spend the remainder of the day exploring at your leisure.

Today, start your full day tour of Wudang Mountain after breakfast, the famous Taoist Mountain.

Board a tourist bus to Zhongguan, where you’ll switch to a cable car that whisks you to the summit. At the peak, explore the Taihe Temple, Zhuanyun Palace, and the iconic Golden Palace, symbolizing the spiritual heart of Wudang Mountain. Descend by cable car and venture to the mountain’s opposite side to delve into the Nanyan Temple and the Purple Clouds Palace, managed by the Taoist Association, for an insight into Taoist practices. Continue to Prince Slope, known for its historical significance as a royal study place.

Route: Tourist Bus to Zhongguan → Cable Car to Summit  → Taihe Temple, Zhuanyun Palace and Golden Palace  →  Cable Car Down → Nanyan Temple & Purple Clouds Palace → Prince Slope

Savor breakfast before catching on a 2.5-hour high-speed rail journey from Wudangshan to Wuhan. Upon reaching Wuhan, meet your tour guide who will accompany you on the late afternoon bullet train, a 1.5-hour trip to Jingzhou City.

Check in hotel in Jingzhou, and get ready to explore further the next day.

Start your day journey to the historic Jingzhou Ancient City, a pivotal site of contention during the Three Kingdoms era. This well-preserved city has withstood the test of time, its walls adorned with chariots and soldier statues that bring its storied past to life.Next, proceed to the Jingzhou Museum, home to an extensive collection of artifacts from the Chu Kingdom. Here, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the region’s rich cultural heritage, with the mummified remains being a particularly captivating exhibit. Conclude your day with a high-speed train ride from Jingzhou to Yichang.

Upon your arrival at Yichang East Railway Station, you’ll be greeted by your guide, who will then escort you to your hotel.

Have your breakfast before setting out to explore the Yichang Museum, which houses an impressive collection of over 30,000 cultural artifacts. Since its establishment in 1990, the museum, designed in the style of ancient architecture, has offered visitors a profound insight into the region’s cultural heritage, including the fossils of the Changyang People, the Chengbeixi Culture, and the Daxi Culture of the Yangtze River.

In the afternoon, go on a scenic 3-4 hour drive to the Shennongjia Nature Reserve, a pristine geological park in China. Check in hotel at Muyu Town and rest.

Begin your expedition to the Shennongding Scenic Spot, a haven of natural beauty. Look for golden hair monkeys at Golden Monkey Ridge, where it is their natural habitat. Ascend to Shennong Valley for sweeping views. Climb to the summit of Shennong Peak, standing at an impressive 3105.4 meters above sea level, for a panoramic perspective of the central Shennongjia landscape. Venture further to explore the mysterious Banbiyan, where you might discover traces of the legendary “wild man.”

In the afternoon, head to the Yantian Scenic Spot, which is renowned for the Swallow Cave. Perched at an elevation of 2400 meters, this cavernous marvel towers over 20 meters high and is capable of accommodating thousands. As you venture inside, be prepared to witness the stunning formations of stalactites and the intricate network of swallow nests adorning the cave’s walls.

Today, you will visit two additional spectacular sites within the Shennongjia Scenic Area. First on the agenda is the Natural Bridge Spot, renowned for its distinctive geological features, including a remarkable natural bridge, a majestic waterfall, and dramatic caves and cliffs that beckon intrepid explorers. Subsequently, make your way to the Shennong Altar, a sacred site dedicated to the worship of Yandi, the legendary founder of agriculture and medicine.

With the conclusion of your Shennongjia exploration, you’ll be escorted back to Yichang by private vehicle. Upon arrival, your guide will ensure a smooth transition to the airport, train station, or cruise port.
